a balcony brunch
Looking to host a quick, easy, picturesque brunch? When I play hostess I plan with two aspects in mind: style and convenience. (I need to write a lazy girl's guide to life.)
Here's how I threw together brunch, and made Lemon Ricotta pancakes.
I love lemon ricotta pancakes, so when I saw Laura Vitale's youtube video (click for recipe) I knew I had to make it. Tired of spending dollars on brunch and specialty dishes...I decided to take a stab at it (although If you know me...I'm not a cooking kind of gal!)
Fluffy deliciousness! The batter was actually fun to make.
My girls and I had to pair the pancakes with sparkling strawberry mimosas! Brunch is never complete without champagne!
If you have the option to entertain outdoors on warm weather days, definitely make use of the space! Fresh cut peonies arranged simply, and candles adds quick and easy decor. (I usually have these out in our apartment so no extra decor needed).
Simple natural colored placemats, any fun plates you have in the cupboard, and matching paper napkins add small touches. Try matching everything you already have at home. I also have mason jar cups and paper straws on hand, so threw those out to keep the drinks fun!
the end result was great! An amazing day with my girls, and it was quick and easy! (And we avoided the long lines and crowds at another trendy brunch spot.)
