Paradise in Puerto Princesa

Paradise in Puerto Princesa

Final photoshoot from my trip. Sort of a late post, but with summer around the corner…it’s still appropriate! This shoot was at the Daluyon Resort in Puerto Princesa. Sabang Beach. Beautiful place! Bright blue water, sunny skies, and soft sand. I wanted an outfit that would compliment the ease of the location.

I decided to wear a white sundress. love the look of white in the summer! White has such a fresh, clean feel. The dress is light, and perfect for warm weather. the looser sleeves along with the beautiful  panel detail, almost has a very 60’s vibe.

A closer look at the eyelet cutout details and trim on the dress. I love the floral pattern. It creates an interesting design and texture!

I found this dress back in 2008 at Old Navy, and I’ve got alot of use out of it. When picking out vacation wear try to find pieces that:

  •  travel well (easy to pack/won’t wrinkle easy)
  • are weather appropriate (sleeves for windier days, etc.)
  • are versatile enough to reuse!  (Can it be incorporated into your everyday wear? does it have staying power in your closet?)

This dress is appropriate to transition from the beach to brunch! As a cover up, and as a mini sun dress.  Also threw on my favorite woven ankle sandals to complete the outfit.

Now for the accessories! A great thing about White in the Spring/Summer is that you can pair it with fun colored accessories! Don’t be afraid to go bright! The season is all about having fun!

I bought this cross- body bag at the bazaar for $4.00 USD. definitely worth the price! I love the punchy coral hue, the tassel and the gold. surprisingly I’ve been able to pair it up with several items in my closet! A bag in a fun statement color can revamp any old boring outfit!

It’s fun to accessorize beachwear! Match up your regular swimsuit with a bag, sunglasses, hoops, and even a scarf to take it to the next level.

It transforms your active swimwear into an actual outfit on your vacation!   Styling your suit is fun so get creative!

Not only will a sunglasses and a headscarf complete the aesthetic, but they are also functional pieces during your adventures!

I loved this particular scarf because of it’s pastel colors! The sweet and light hues offset the punchy coral bag. When worn together with the white dress… these colors actually compliment each other visually instead of compete for the eyes attention.

My favorite scarf not only because of the gorgeous filigree and chain pattern, but because it’s Hello Kitty! This was from the Forever21 X Hello Kitty Collection. The HK logo is subtle. This makes it more appropriate to wear without the piece looking too animated.

Tied up neatly with a low bun, and you’re ready for a day in the sun!

Hope these tips help liven up your own summer wardrobe!
