Home for the Holidays: Interior Styling
Welcome to our home on the Emeryville marina! Decorating for the holidays is always exciting! I absolutely love getting festive! This year I wanted a clean, stylish holiday look!
Every year Lj and I go to the East Bay Nursery to pick up a tree! I always find the best trees there, as they are well cared for and maintained. This year we hand picked this beautiful fresh silver tip pine 6'5". Our largest tree yet. Normally I will have it lightly flocked. But with the black and white theme, we decided to completely flock the tree to give it a more dramatic contrasting effect.
To keep in line with the theme I chose black christmas ornaments in various textures. The high shine, matte, and glitter create more variety and depth. I also used black velvet bow trimmings for the topper and scattered a few throughout the tree to keep with the luxe holiday vibe. LJ and I incorporated our favorite accent ornaments. We also decided to opt for white LED lights as opposed to yellow to keep everything winter white.
Wanted a modern typography print that kept within the theme. I absolutely love art prints and have a few scattered throughout the apartment. This season we decided on one of our favorite classic holiday movies: It's a Wonderful Life. We actually ended up mounting this piece to the wall above our fireplace.
The end result: chic, clean, and stylish. I like to change it up every year with a different look, and I'm very pleased with this year's theme. How are you styling your home for the holidays? Any fresh ideas for next year? Hope this inspires your own holiday decor!
